No Kings Day Rallies
A nationwide day of action is planned for Oct. 17 throughout the country, with more than a dozen events scheduled for Connecticut.
Part of the “No Kings” movement, the October events will be focused on rallying voters to get to the polls for the midterm elections. The theme “No Kings” is meant to protest the rise of authoritarianism and political violence in the United States. Organizers say they now want to “use our collective power at the ballot box for the future we want for our families, communities, and country.”
The events are also meant to encourage voters to take advantage of early voting, which starts Oct. 19 in Connecticut. See the CT locations for the nearest rally at https://www.nokings.org/#mape
State Candidate Forum
To be held at the John Winthrop Middle School Auditorium, 1 Winthrop Rd., Deep River at 6:30 PM.
See Rep. Renee LaMark Muir and Sen. Norm Needleman, both highly qualified and experienced local Democratic representatives in the Connecticut General Assembly, face off against their Republican Challengers Guy Tuccero and Charles Ferraro in a candidate Forum, where they will lay out their ideas, accomplishments, and plans for our future. This is not a debate, but questions can be emailed in advance to deepriverdems@gmail.com for consideration. Get informed, your vote is your voice!
