Carol Jones

2025 Incumbent Candidate for

First Selectman in Deep River, CT.  

Carol has lived in Deep River for over 30 years. Throughout that time, she has been an active volunteer, and has served on various Boards and Commissions, as a Girl Scout leader, a volunteer with the Boy Scouts, an assistant in a wide range of school activities, and as a Sunday school teacher.  

Carol has been employed by the town of Deep River for nearly 15 years. Before being elected First Selectman, she served as its first full-time Parks and Recreation Director.  She continues to volunteer as a member of the United Way, the Women's United group, and as a Sunday school teacher. She has dedicated her life here to making it a better place for all. Her weekly newsletters (online at the town’s website and via email) have been very well-received, and residents have told her that they appreciate the delineation of her efforts and her transparency and honesty.

Carol Jones believes strongly in Deep River. She is seeking re-election because she wants to continue to move major issues forward. She believes in high-quality public education and supports school restructuring, for both the cost savings to residents and for the educational benefits for our children. She has been actively working to market Deep River to recruit new businesses in order to increase our tax base and lower taxes, and wants to liven up our public spaces with renovated facilities and public art. Carol enjoys listening to her constituents and will continue to work tirelessly for the betterment of the town and all of its residents.
